Road Trip Day # 6,York.

Saturday morning in York started with an exploratory run.

Just down the street from our AirBnb is Monk’s Gate with an access point to the top of the wall.

York Minster and our little bungalow from on top of the wall.  Just kidding about our bungalow.

This wall is crowded with people later in the day but we had it to ourselves.

When the wall ended we ran around the town’s famous Shambles and market.  This is an old narrow market street with overhanging timber framed buildings, some dating back to the 14th century.  Shambles is an obsolete term for an open air slaughter house and meat market.

We could hardly walk down this street three hours later, just jammed with people.

This and picture above are of The Shambles.

You would think that we should be done with cathedrals by now but we still find them awe inspiring.

Any idea how many cramped, narrow, uneven, dark, spiral stairways we have climbed?

That is the answer to how many steps this time.

Not really dressed for church.

The flowers are for the afternoon wedding.

After finally showering and getting dressed for the day we returned to York Minster where Sandy enjoyed watching the wedding party exiting the church and looking for the celebrities Katie Perry, Sienna Miller and Orlando Bloom.  Jim caught Fergie and her daughters on video.

That was our day in York, just a run and a wedding.
