More Family in Copenhagen

Our youngest offspring James Geoffrey Steen is married to a Swedish girl Sofi Wallin and they have three daughters, Bhavanii who is 12; Freya, 8 and Gaorii or Gigi who is 6. They have been in Sweden visiting Sofi’s sister, brother and mother. Her sister and mother live in Mora but her brother Matias and wife Benz and three children were visiting from Bangkok. We spent Sandy’s birthday with them in Bangkok. Geoff and family took the train from Sweden and arrived here about 9pm on July 11.

We can see the taxi arrive from our 7th floor balcony. (would be 8th floor in USA)
Jim went downstairs to let them in and Sandy met them at our front door.
Sandy prepared grilled cheese sandwiches which they all gobbled down.
Grammy’s grilled cheese, loved by everyone.
This sunset just before 10pm on the night that they arrived.
Jim had reserved this cargo bike weeks ahead of time from a Copenhagen bike rental shop. Jim, Geoff and Gaorii took the bus to the shop which is across town. Geoff pedaled Jim and Gaorii back. It is a bit easier with just Freya and Gaorii.
Grammy bought the grandchildren face paints and Freya painted her dad.
Very impressive results.
Bhavanii getting ready to paint Gaorii’s face but rain came right after this picture.
The family pedaled around town and then met us at Friendship Boats for a two hour canal tour.
Captain Jim and Sandy gave them a great tour of some of the canals.
Freya also helped to steer the boat.
Gaorii is a very active person and was very unhappy on the boat. Initially a little scared and then just impatient. She wanted the tour to last for only 11 minutes.
Back at home, Gaorii finishing up another one of our puzzles.
Another grandchild getting ready to become taller than Grammy. Only three left to catch her after Freya.
The whole family climbed the Round Tower. We waited below as we have already been to the top.
Heading home in the cargo bike after the climb.
Another activity at home, some type of cards.
And a video of bubble blowing on the deck.
Looking from the deck to the living room window. Double pane of thick glass to keep her safe.
The whole family also climbed The Church of Our Savior.
Exploring the inside of the church.
Climbing up the outside stairs.
Gaorii on the very top step which is very narrow.
The whole family enjoyed bubble tea, Sofi took the picture.
The three sisters have such a loving relationship.
Another evening of family activities. Sandy laying out the pieces to another jig saw puzzle.
Jim playing pick-up-sticks with Freya. The shaky old man won both games.
Morning hugs before the family leaves. Taking a taxi to Central Station and then a couple of trains to Ananda Gaorii in NW Denmark for an Ananda Marga retreat. They will be there for a week before flying home to Marshall North Carolina on 24 July.
Grampy has a bad case of bedhead.
Always so sad to say goodby.
Such sweet girls.

Copenhagen is proving to be a huge bonus for family visits. Before we leave we will have hosted three of five offspring and five of nine grandchildren. What could be better than that.
