So we are struggling with this new format of a real blog and we have been busy with life and connecting with friends, both in New York City and back in Boston. We are also in the process of posting old emails on the blog. So far we have posted the first two days of Sandy’s retirement trip to Paris in March of 2016. Our last current posting was our New Years Eve run. Prior to that we returned to Boston for dental appointments, Jury duty for Jim, a wedding, dinners with multiple friends and Christmas holidays with our son and daughter Jason & Jennifer. We had a wonderful Christmas eve with appetizers at Jason’s

and dinner with Jennifer. Christmas day in Boston was so snowy and windy that we scrapped all plans and just returned to NYC for a late night Christmas dinner with just the two of us at Cafe Luxembourg. NYC weather became so cold that going out was tough but we did manage one visit to the Guggenheim where we took a tour with a gallery educator called one hour, one object. The object was Cezanne’s painting Bibemus Quarry which the group spent one hour discussing and dissecting.

Our friends Katiti & Bill came in on December 28th to spend New Years with us. In spite of the polar weather we got out for a little shopping for the ladies and spent some time at the Museum of the City of New York

On the 29th Bill & Katiti went to an off Broadway play while Jim & Sandy met up with Brian, John & Walter for Walter’s birthday dinner at The Smith Restaurant on Broadway.

Saturday night the 30th we met up with Tom & Donna Quirk and two of their children, Colin & Carolyn, Frances Ikwuazom and her two sisters and parents at a small Ethiopian Restaurant in Greenwich Village for dinner. We had a great time with Jim introducing new African food to Ugandans & Nigerians.

Sandy & Jim ran the New York Road Runners Midnight run in Central Park which we have posted previously. We returned to Boston on January 2 and had to endure more sub-zero weather and 14 inches of snow. While in Boston for 11 days we went out to dinner almost every night with friends and family.

We also shoveled a lot of snow both at our road home in Melrose and also at our permanent home in Boston.

On Saturday night, the 13th of January we left Boston on Turkish Air for a flight to Istanbul and then on to Tel Aviv Israel.
